Description
Here’s the car that started Nissan’s Pike Car line. A car that you could get and feel all warm and cozy: the 1987 Nissan BE1. Ever think about the good ol’ days? Designer Naoki Sakai did so too, so it turned in a retro design meant to compete with other car brands that were taking over the Japanese market. Meant to be used as an everyday car, Nissan used different materials to make the body of this car, including thermoplastic resin (that could resist small rock impacts), durasteel (mainly in the front), and ABS resin. Buyers of this car were picked by lottery, because, of course, who wouldn’t want to drive home in a car with that much face card?
